Construction and Progress Photography
One of the things I like most about shooting industrial and construction sites are creating beautiful images of subject that most people would never take a second look at. I recently was hired to shoot a unique construction job in progress in Sacramento. This was not a normal run of the mill building, but more of an architectural work of art. Although the shape of the building was beautiful, there was still a lot of thought that had to go into creating the images. This was an active job site with a lot of workers and equipment on site. I arrived before sunrise to find eight different lifts parked under the structure. Sunrise and sunset shoots have a very short timeframe to catch the light, so getting the equipment moved quickly was the first obstacle to deal with. There were specifics the contractor wanted to see in the background (Tower Bridge, The Pyramid and the Sacramento River), so figuring out the best angles to show the building with those backgrounds were the next challenge. Once those details were worked out, it was time to tart shooting. Here are a few of my favorites.
