Experience Behind the Camera
Red Tail Photography is a Northern California photography and video business founded and operated by professional photographers Duane Gillette and Aimee Chiofalo. Together, we've spent nearly 40 years creating images for businesses, organizations, publications and individuals across a remarkably broad range of industries and assignments.
Our work includes commercial and architectural photography, construction, industrial and manufacturing projects, agriculture, food and wine, corporate environments, people, products, events, wildlife and more. We don't limit ourselves to one photographic niche because our clients don't all have the same story to tell.
Photography Built on Real-World Experience
Over the years, we've photographed hundreds of commercial projects and marketing campaigns, from architectural and construction assignments to industrial facilities, manufacturing environments, agricultural operations, food and wine, corporate events and more. We've worked in active construction sites, industrial facilities, underground utility vaults, manufacturing environments and other locations where careful planning, adaptability and safety are just as important as making a great photograph.
Our work has included projects for companies such as Microsoft, ACCO Engineered Systems, Xylem and Urbaser, along with hundreds of other businesses and organizations. Architectural work has appeared on seven magazine covers, and our photography has been used for marketing, corporate communications, publications, advertising and other professional applications.
Duane's professional background is rooted in commercial and architectural photography, with a career that has taken him from corporate environments and construction sites to industrial facilities, agriculture, landscapes and some decidedly unusual locations. His approach is shaped by the belief that good photography starts with understanding the subject, the environment and what the final images need to accomplish.

Aimee brings her own perspective to the business through people, events, portraits, wildlife, birds and abstract photography. Her ability to work with people and find unexpected visual moments complements the commercial and architectural side of the business and gives Red Tail Photography a broader creative perspective.

After decades behind the camera, we still approach photography as a craft rather than a formula. The subject may change from a construction project to a manufacturing facility, a vineyard, a corporate event or a portrait, but the fundamentals remain the same: understanding light, composition, timing, perspective and the story the image needs to communicate.
That's why we enjoy working across different industries and assignments. Every project presents a new problem to solve, and that variety continues to keep photography interesting.

Red Tail Photography is based in Northern California and regularly works throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento Valley and Central Valley. We also accept location assignments throughout California and beyond when the project takes us there.
